Carly Rae Jepsen Doesn't Want to Be Left on the Dance Floor
The new single — directed by Jeremy O. Harris and starring Tony winner Alden Ehrenreich — previews the "night" side of her upcoming double album
Carly Rae Jepsen has released "Don't Leave Me on the Dance Floor," a club-ready banger that turns the fear of abandonment into an ecstatic, ABBA-inspired anthem. It's the first "night" track from her forthcoming 24-track double album Day and Night, out September 18 via Interscope. The accompanying video marks playwright Jeremy O. Harris's directorial debut, starring Alden Ehrenreich as a man dancing through heartbreak beneath a disco ball after a gutting phone call with his lover, played by Olivia Washington.
"I wanted a hook that made you feel like you had to participate and sing along," Jepsen said of the track, written with producers CJ Baran and Arthur Besnainou after a trip to see ABBA Voyage in London.
Day and Night arrives September 18, followed by Jepsen's 2026 live debut at NYC's All Things Go Festival on September 27.
